Edison State Park
Edison State Park, a 544-acre preserve, lies in the heart of New Jersey’s industrial corridor. It offers visitors a glimpse into the natural beauty of the state’s Pinelands region. The picnic area has a playground and picnic tables overlooking Lake Tomahawk.
The campground has 60 campsites with water and electric hookups. A comfort station with showers is located at the entrance to the campground. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails that wind through the park’s wooded areas, along Lake Tomahawk, or around its perimeter trail, which connects all three parts of Edison State Park together.
Cheesequake State Park
Cheesequake State Park is a beautiful state park in New Jersey that offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy. The park is located on the border between Middlesex and Monmouth counties, approximately 15 miles from the city of Edison. The park has many trails that hikers can take advantage of as well as numerous other activities for everyone to enjoy.
Cheesequake State Park was built in the 1950s and opened up to the public in 1961. It has been open ever since and has received several upgrades over time. The park features over 7 miles of trails which are all open to hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. There are also several picnic areas throughout the park where visitors can enjoy lunch or dinner with their family or friends.
Washington Rock State Park
Washington Rock State Park is a scenic state park in Vernon, New Jersey. This park offers ample opportunities for hiking and picnicking, as well as the chance to catch a glimpse of the Delaware River. The park has been described as one of the most beautiful spots in New Jersey. Here you can enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking and biking. The park’s trails are open year-round and offer scenic views along the Delaware River.
In addition to its natural beauty, Washington Rock State Park is also home to several historical sites. The park’s namesake was once used as a lookout point during the American Revolution by General George Washington himself!
