The INFINITI QX80 is a flagship full-size SUV with comprehensive technology and superior towing capabilities. Like many vehicles from this manufacturer, the QX80 has a luxurious and comfortable cabin. This year's model is expected to be largely a carryover from 2022, so few major changes are expected. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The new INFINITI QX80 is available in three trims. The base-level trim is the Luxe, with the Premium Select being the mid-level trim and the Sensory comprising the top-of-the-line trim with full luxury appointments. At the base level, you get 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, and a power liftgate. The Premium Select gives you beefy 22-inch wheels and sleek, dark chrome touches on the exterior. Colors include Moonstone White, Anthracite Gray, Coulis Red, Champagne Quartz, Hermosa Blue, Mineral Black, Black Obsidian, and Liquid Platinum.
Engine (Power)
There is only one engine available for the INFINITI QX80. Every trim level comes with a 5.6-liter V-8 that produces 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. It's an impressive powertrain for a large SUV and will pound the pavement with the best of them no matter where you want to go. The engine is mated to a seven-speed shiftable automatic transmission, meaning you have additional levels of control over the automatic or continuously variable transmissions offered by other manufacturers.
Performance
The latest QX80 is among the best performers in its class, especially when it comes to towing capacity. When properly equipped with a self-leveling rear suspension, this SUV can tow up to 8,500 pounds, one of the highest ratings in the large luxury SUV class. All models of QX80 are offered in standard rear-wheel drive with four-wheel drive as an option. It's worth noting that the four-wheel drive here is true four-wheel drive with the hubs locked in, not the all-wheel drive offered by others.
Interior
The cabin is cavernous with plenty of room for passengers in all three rows, and soft-touch, well-appointed luxury surfaces throughout. Options like foldable second-row captain's chairs offer an additional touch of luxury. Even at the base level, you get full leather upholstery and heated power front seats as well as a heated steering wheel. In terms of technology, you start with a 13-speaker Bose sound system and wireless smartphone integration. At the highest level, you get advanced cabin air filtration, premium leather upholstery, and other refinements.
Safety Features
The QX80 comes standard with a full suite of active intelligent safety features. These include adaptive cruise control to keep a safe distance between your vehicle and the cars in front of you. You also get blind-spot monitoring and a 360-degree top-down parking camera to see everything everywhere all around you. Frontal crash mitigation applies emergency brakes to save you from a crash or reduce the damage. Lane-keeping assist steers you back if you begin to drift out of your lane.
